If I could rate them only on their food they would do far better. Their food is actually really quite good but getting that food and your drinks as accurately and as promptly as you order is another matter. Be prepared to wait and be prepared to be completely ignored and then prepare for every bloody excuse in the restaurant industry when you ask where your food is. My father-in-law watched three orders of clam appetizers be delivered to tables who had been long seated after us. The inside is so horrifically dirty a show should come in and redo everything. They might as well just put up a porta-potty. Sit outside. Inside is mouldy, dirty and just might kill you. Mind you, we are going again tonight because by Bushkill standards, this place is ok.

Really good service. Enjoyed the food. No complaints here.

I was visiting the Bushkill area with some family and decided to give Petrizzo's a try. We ate an early dinner inside the restaurant and had a few after dinner drinks outdoors on the patio. The food was very good. Classic Italian. Spaghetti & meatballs and lasagna. The patio (they call it the Jungle Tiki Bar) is great fun. Live music, chilled beverages, nice people, very relaxing. Like being on vacation.

I found the food to be pretty good and inexpensive. Maybe not the best Italian food ever, but pretty good. I've been to Sicily and Italy a few times and can compare. The waitress was super friendly and got a nice tip. If you are hungry after a day of hiking, I highly recommend.

Like another reviewer, we both arrived at Petrizzo's very hungry after hiking Bushkill Falls all day. Great place! Excellent food and service. I had the seafood bisque and lasagna. My girlfriend had the eggpant parm. We both enjoyed our meals and left stuffed. *** Very close to Bushkill Falls Park. Great place for lunch. They even have a small outdoor Tiki Bar for drinks.

Crap. Looks like this place has been around for a very long time, usually a good thing meaning a well established restaurant, NOT in this case. For was crap and a crap price. Like another review, put your car in reverse and head down the road a little farther.

The price is great. We went with the kids at mid-day and inside was empty. The service was quick. The pizza was all we ordered and it good in taste and size. The kids added boric and cheese to make it taste stronger. Good amount of cheese on it also. We would go again.

This New Yorker left super stuffed and I disagree with the first review. We had several dishes with piping hot fresh bread. Plus the soup all were cooked with mama's old italian homemade sauce and great flavor a little overkill if you don't like that sort of thing most New Yawkers like that. The lasanga was the best dish and very filling I find it hard to swallow if anyone thought it was bad. The service was ok nothing really to write home about! A must try when in town......

Visiting Bushkill for the weekend and saw this place on our way back to our rental, we decided to stop & grab a bite to eat. Thank goodness we did! It is such a cute outdoor tiki bar! The decor was welcoming, AND most importantly, it's pet friendly! My pup was able to hang out and eat with us while we enjoyed our food + the great live music! I ordered an Italian hero & fries - it was pretty darn good. The fries were delicious. I have nothing negative to say about this spot! Our service was nothing short of great + my furry friend was welcomed! I just wish there were more spots like this around. Kudos to this gem!

Close to Bushkill Falls and outside... That's about the only good thing I can say. Ordered wings and clams casino as an app - to 35 minutes, wings tasted good but we're dry; clams consisted of buttered bread crumbs, maybe a pinch of clam.. No bacon to be seen.. Ordered cheesesteak for lunch... See picture, the cheesesteak was solidified and inedible... Soups were good but served cold. Got a frozen margarita... Tasted like it was mixed in a machine that must of previously had a banana daiquiri in it... Zero alcohol. Waitress was very friendly but service was way too slow... Over an hour for bar food. not good.

STAY AWAY!!! After a long hike and swimming in the river, we were all VERY hungry. We were excited to find something close and it looked inviting from the outside. Tables yuck! My husband ordered a shrimp scampi, I went the baby back ribs, kids got chicken tenders, pizza and baked ziti with meatballs. Adult plates came with a salad, which was clearly bagged and old. Shrimp scampi had 5 shrimp and pasta was horrible. Baby back ribs were barely warm a looked like someone dumped BBQ sauce on top of it! Chicken fingers & Fries where the regular store bought frozen, baked ziti with no flavor but the sauce on top, pizza was large - dough was blah. Flies everywhere, bathroom filthy. We should of just stopped at a McD's (not a fan of their food either but at least I could of saved $70!!) Never Again!!

We were looking for some great local pizza. This was the highest rated in the area. With only 3 stars my hopes were not high to begin with. The service was ok, and the atmosphere was a very small town Italian place. We got a couple beers with both tasting a bit off. The Coors light was lemony for some reason. The meatballs in my sons spaghetti were really good. The rest of us got cheese pizza. The pizza wasn't bad per se it just wasn't great. The sauce and cheese were the best part. The dough was very bread like. Instead of being chewy or like most New York style (which this was going for) it was like eating a sour dough bread. The waitress was friendly and it was quiet. The rating is based purely on the pizza.

  • Christine S.

This rating is for the tiki bar. After a 7 mile hike this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a pizza. The small pizza was huge!!! The bartender was friendly and easy to talk to. The owner came out to talk to us as well! This business has been open and family owned for 70 years! We loved getting the fresh herbs from the garden for our pizza as well. If your looking for a laid back environment to enjoy a few beers and a great pizza this is the perfect place. We will be back :)

Good place to hang out, eat steamed clams, peel and eat shrimp, drink your favorite beer and listen to a live band. Great summer patio dining. Good value.

We stopped here late night for drinks and snacks after we went to Bushkill falls hike and settling in at the hotel. How cool it's that. A tiki bar in the middle of no where. We got few cocktails and wings. They are great. Everyone including staff are very friendly. Over all we had a great time and will definitely come visit again.

We went for a late Sunday lunch. We had a good buffalo chicken wrap and beers. We sat in the outside section and there were many groups of bikers there too. They had live music as well while we were there.

  • Sam S.

Really inexpensive and the Seafood Bisque was very tasty, spicy, creamy and meaty. The waitress looked puzzled when I ordered a John Daley cocktail but the bartender made it just like I like.

  • Augie B.

I was in the mood for Italian so I stopped here. It was clean and neat and the staff was nice. Food was average at best. I had the baked ziti and meatballs, meatballs were kind of hard. Not a "homemade" kind of place

Great atmosphere. Decided to stop by and check out the place for a date night with my hubby. Great serves and food was good. Bonus with the live music.

I am never coming here again; came here on Mother's Day to celebrate after a long hike. Took 20mins for our drinks to come out, the waitress was rude, and extremely slow service. The food is good, but I rather a Great service and an "ok" meal over a slow and rude service with good food. Horrible place, will not recommend this place to no one.

    (1)
  • Craig W.

Horrible! The place was filthy both inside and out. We stopped in and ended up walking out after 30 min after we still never got our meatball sandwich and chicken parmisian sandwich, of course after they charged us $5 for two iced teas. The sign outside was blinking "Awesome" , instead it should say "pathetic"

  • Omar M.

People.... Need I stress this is an outdoor tiki bar. Don't come here to order something fancy and then downgrade the place. Also did i mention outdoor??? So expect a bug or 2. This place isn't bad at all, they had a performer with an Acoustic guitar playing. Nice sunny day to be sitting outside. I had a bacon cheeseburger and some fries. This place is also PET FRIENDLY and they bring ur dog ice water which was nice. I wouldn't mind coming back. Thanks bushkill.

Pizza is good, but not great. The large pizza is a great value though. So go big or go home.

  • Marisa L.

This spot is randomly in the middle of nowhere. The only Italian restaurant with a Tiki Bar. There was live music, 2 men playing acoustic guitar, even on a rainy day. The musicians were a little too interactive, looking for requests from an audience of about 4 people, or trying to make it trivia-ish, asking what years songs were from (despite the fact that they were clearly from before our time.) The food was average, what you would expect from a place in the middle of nowhere. Service was friendly, and sandwiches come with fries or potato chips. No frills but kinda cool that it's on the side of the road, probably nice on a good weather day, but I was there during torrential downpours.

We were looking for a place near Bushkill Falls to watch the NFL. We were passing by and decided to stop here. We sat in the outside bar area. It was nice, they have propane heaters and it wasn't crowded. We asked the bartender to put the game we wanted on and she obliged happily. Had some beer and a mushroom pizza. The pizza was excellent. The staff was very nice and helpful. The owner stopped by and said hello. The patrons were all nice and polite and we had some good conversation watching the game. We'll be back soon!

Love the calamari and the atmosphere the staff is friendly and attentive! The drinks are good and there is always a great conversation!!!!

Slow service and extremely rude bartender. There are a lot of other eating options in the area. I suggest you go elsewhere.

**BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD** and I am from NYC! Petrizzo's restaurant had everything I look for when going out to eat... Amazing food, excellent service and a fun and inviting environment! My boyfriend and I hiked Bushkill Falls and stopped here for a BIG lunch afterwards, pleasantly surprised to say the least! We had a wonderful conversation with the owner, enjoyed live outdoor music and were invited to "BUSH-STOCK" a music festival to raise money for Diabetes over Labor Day Weekend! I HIGHLY recommend this diamond in the rough for a quick bite to eat, a drink at the bar and great conversation!!

Well after 35 min of not being greeted or approached by a waitress my wife finally went to the bar to get drinks ( water for her beer for me) she told the bartender we needed to order, the bartender came out from behind the bar and took our order (45 min in our visit at this point) of course we were fully ready to order as we were approaching an hour already with the menus in hand.. Put in our good order ( to the bartender) and waited. We did notice the live music was at this point joined by who we think is the owner ( same last name at the restaurant) whom was obliviously more concerned about singing then his patrons (as the table of 6 in front of him had empty drinks for his first 5 songs) , but I digress.. Ok so another couple sits next to us and we tell them better to go get ur drinks than wait. And they told is they moved and actually put there order in with the endangered species of the waitress type.. So of course we flagged her down after we took off our stealth technology clothing and asked for a water for my wife from her ( yes already asked for one) 1hr 20 in now and she ad Sled us if our waitress had gotten one or is a waitress had helped us, I said no that my beer came from the bar and that no waitress had approached us. Obviously this new creature to the environment looked puzzled and said ohh no I'm sorry.. " I'll get that water for you" thank you I replied.. Then 1 hr and 45 min food came!! Ohhh yeah I was ready.. My $10 lasagna plate, well bowl came out ( house speciality) and it was right on par with stoufers frozen lasagna. So I would of given a half star but Yelp wouldn't let me.. Not the waitress staff fault.. Poorly managed place right in front of the owners face 6 tables were getting poor service and he kept on singing.. Don't waste your time unless I have time to waste.. Wendy's is down the street as well as WaWa or Turkey Hill Gas stations.. You'll at least get what you pay for there..

Stopped here after checking out Bushkill Falls and sat outside. This was a mistake, as the hostess placed us in the back of the Tiki Bar on some run down chairs and tables. The odor of propane and horse manure wafted over to our table a few times throughout the meal. The food was "meh." The best part was probably the pizza, the most mediocre was definitely the parm subs. Avoid the garlic bread (we ordered as an appetizer, it came out after our entrees and was disappointing). The service was worse than the food. Our waitress kept disappearing for long stretches. We even sent search parties out for her that came back empty handed. All in all, I would avoid this place if you are on any kind of schedule or like Italian food.

Where to begin with Petrizzo's? Let's start with the positive...The food and prices. At least for lunch. I can't judge the dinner menu. For $20 my wife and I had a bucket (5) of 8oz Coors Lt splits (or nips depending on your geography), a mushroom swiss burger and a veal parm sub. Can't argue with those prices in my mind. The burger and sandwiches were actually pretty good. The veal parm was very fried though, so i'm guessing it wouldn't translate into a dinner entree that well. Probably best to stick with the sandwich. Now the negative...We sat at the outdoor patio, and it was pretty dirty. I don't want to use the word filthy, but it was bordering on it. I know it is outside so I expect to share the space with a fly or two. This was ridiculous. Brought me back to Amityville Horror. There were flies everywhere. The tables weren't thoroughly cleaned which kept the flies fed. The bar area itself really needed a cleaning. I have 6 letters for you...B-L-E-A-C-H. Event the bucket that held our beer was dirty. It's a shame because the outdoor patio area is just the place people are drawn to in areas like this. After a morning or day of kayaking, hiking, and other outdoor activities it's great to unwind outside with a few beers. The patio is hooked up too. They have TVs around the large bar area. Live entertainment is provided (and I'm not just referring to the colorful mix of locals and tourists). The bartenders and wait staff were all friendly, and it may not be 5-star service, but I felt like we were treated well throughout our visit. I can't attest for anything inside, as I never left the patio. They do allow dogs on the patio, and their pizza looked decent. I'd just like to see them clean it up a bit. This could be a fun, quirky spot.

Stopped here for dinner. Pizza was ok but restaurant servers were attentive and they had a man singing songs with his guitar. The kids and the adults enjoyed.

Not good, only tried the pizza and it's in the bottom 10 pizza I've ever had. Seems like a nice outside bar but for a pizza place the pizza was not good

  • Chip G.

Rainy Saturday and what do we see on the side of the road??? A Tiki bar. How could it be bad??? It did not disappoint!! Good selection of beer and drinks, excellent service and atmosphere... And the food was outstanding. We had a "small" (anything but) pizza and the homemade dough, sauce and toppings were superb! Good prices to boot.

Best cheesesteaks , NY pizza fabulous, Chicken Parm sandwich very fresh . We sat outside on the patio/tiki bar , really enjoyable lunch.

  • Cory G.

This was undoubtedly the most disgusting Italian food I've ever had. The sauces were all soggy and thin, the ravioli was so over-cooked that it split and fell apart on the fork and it was absolutely tasteless at that! It was supposed to be fresh but it has hard in the middle like it had freezer burn. The Italian bread was obviously reheated over and over and over and over again as it was really hard and just crumbled when you bit it. This may be a cute place to go for the prom or something for kids who have no clue whatsoever but for a adult resident of the area this place is just a tourist trap with filthy bathrooms and bad, bad food.

I have been using Yelp long enough that I know the reviews are generally right on the money! Since this restaurant only had three reviews at the time I thought "maybe" they all just had bad timing. Unfortunately they were right - stay away! Trust the few reviews that have been written! We saw this place at it looked like a great spot to stop because of the outdoor bar area. It was a beautiful day and that exactly what we were looking for. There were a good amount of people there so I decided to ignore the Yelp reviews and head in. To begin with the outside portion is really the only place with any atmosphere, they even had a live guitar player/singer covering old rock and roll from the 70s - 90s which was OK. When I went inside to use the restroom I was surprised and how outdated this place was to be in a prime location for tourists going by - it didn't have that "Pocono rustic" feel at all - just outdated that the owners don't seem to be reinvesting. The service was the worst I have had in years, our waitress was terrible. She was slow, not attentive to when we finished drinks and constantly forgot literally every request, a list of examples of items forgotten when requested a number of times; bring children's menus (she gave a 6, 8, 11 and 12 year old adult menus), adult beverages (on four or five separate occasions!), the appetizer for one person (even asked a bus boy to help he said OK and then we watch him just go back to picking up dishes and not say anything to anyone!), kids refills of juice and continued requests to find out where our food was (took over an hour to get the appetizer for the one person and another 30 minutes after for the entrees! When the kids ordered the two boys (11 and 12) wanted to order off of the adult menu, they each ordered a small pizza. One of the younger girls (6) ordered a personal pizza which was the perfect size for really an adult which was fine - the waitress provided no suggestion to anyone that the "small" pizzas the boys ordered off of the regular menu were actually big enough to feed two or three people each and just let them order. One of the adults ordered an entrée that was to come with pasta and a salad - she never took mentioned or provided that. We were served "dirty" bottles that we had to return as they were disgusting to even think about drinking out of and the list of other items would continue to go on but I'm sure people have stopped reading this review by now... We all agreed the food was good, solid food - or we were just so hungry after waiting so long it didn't matter. It's a shame that this place is run so poorly as it is in a good location when traveling on that road. We will not be returning here.

This review is for the Tiki bar: it was the perfect way to grab a drink and snack after hiking bushkill falls. We didn't have any of the Italian food but just got a bucket of beer and some clams and fries to munch on. There as a live entertainer who we really enjoyed as well. The casual relaxed atmosphere of sitting outside at the tiki bar was exactly what we wanted!

The pizza was alright, definitely not great. Was just too thin and greasy for my tastes.

  • Adam M.

For the Poconos this is good Italian food. Tasty garlic bread, decent sauce, good not great Veal Parmigiana. If you want Italian food in the Poconos, it's a good place to go. The ambiance as compared to most traditional Italian restaurants definitely leaves something to be desired though.

    (3)
  • Christine R.

I can't really vouch for the food because all I had was an italian hoagie. I mean you can't really mess that up can you? It was a nice getaway to chill out by the bar on a nice summer day. The bartender was friendly and so were the other customers. Felt like your neighborhood hangout. Unlike the other reviewers I couldn't imagine going here and expecting a quality or fresh homemade italian meal.... Look at the place! It's a dive bar for heaven's sake. Laughable but I guess some are easily swayed by words on signs. Use your judgement people.

If I was writing a review on just the food, I would probably be giving it a 3.5 stars! However, I am reviewing the whole dining experience, which was terrible! I assume it could of been worse but I dont like to dine this way. We had never been before, so we sat outside because it was beautiful out. I didn't go inside the building so I cant say what the atmosphere was in there. The outside was a typical outside bar with tables around. Definitley a "biker" atmosphere. Our waitress was horrible! She said she was new, but should could of been nicer and more welcoming. We had to ask for our bucket of beers 4 times before someone brought it, with barely no ice. I orders the stuffed shells with a meatball (which on the menu you can get a meatball or sausage) I specfically asked her if it would come with a meatball, she said yes, and of course it didnt. So I had to ask for one. My boyfriend ordered shrimp cocktail which he never got, but was charged for on the bill. So we had to point that out! The food was OK, nothing to rant and rave about. There was one girl clearing dishes off the table that was actually nice and got us more drinks since our waitress didn't check on us at all. Not the way I would run a business. So when we asked what was giong on, they had every excuse in the book. Saying one of there employees just walked out so they were short staffed blah blah. Which sucks, i get! But outside there were 4 other girls and the owner working with only a total of maybe 7 tables. I wouldnt go back for the reason that the service was horrible

I have come to this place a few times while I vacation at the Poconos and it is not too bad. The people are very sweet. The service is quick and the food is good. I would definitely go again!

  • Chris D.

I will never go back again. Their menu advertised fresh ravioli and when I got it it was freezer burned. I asked the waiter if the ravioli was really fresh and his reply was "what do you want me to tell you, it's frozen, are you happy?" This once nice mom and pop place has resorted to what is fast and cheap. Don't be fooled, this place is not an authentic Italian place.

Horrible experience.. I arrived with a couple of buddies & sat at the outside bar, waited for the young lady to even notice we were there, finally she comes over takes our order & never brought our drinks... After receiving our food hard & cold, I made a joke that I was thirsty.. And she rolled her eyes & rudely asked "what do you want?" so if that wasn't bad enough the owner walks up to us asking us where we're from & a whole other list of questions (way to scare people away)I don't know if he harasses all his customers but I just wanted to eat my cold food & run. I walk inside to a moldy smelling dinning room & once again the harassment begins.. Two girls almost chased me down trying to make me have a seat.. I finally make it to the bathroom & it looks like a war zone.. Food no good, prices too high, service lacks experience, if you want to feel like your on a real bad interview speak to the owner! Outside bar had a cool look, but needs an experienced bartender! Won't go back to that hole in the ground.

3.75 stars, rounded up. We arrived very hungry from our visit to Bushkill Falls. The restaurant was full, but the hostess took our name and told us that it would be a 15 minute wait. We waited in the lounge with the other folks and watched the game that was on TV. After we were seated, the staff nicely took care of us hungry travelers. We ordered seafood medley over linguini, broccoli and cauliflauer, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was quite nice. The veggies were colorful and also cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the delicious cannolis - the shells were still crispy! - and an apple crisp. We all left satisfied and ready for our next destination.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
